Riding Club area dressage to Music qualifiers
The College of West Anglia
We had five members take part in the dressage to music qualifiers this year, which was held at, and run by the College of West Anglia.
Debbie was first to go in the novice DTM for horses with no points and unfortunately Sienna got a little bossy about the whole thing and took no notice of Debbie at all, Fraser on Lordships Supersonic had a great test just missing out on first place by half a percent, hopefully he will get a wild card for the championships as he got a very good score.
On to the Novice horses with points class and we had Catherine and Sally in this one, Catherine produced a solid error free test to get second place and after a fantastic warm up class Sally’s horse decided to perform the most fantastic, but not required, rein back at the beginning of the test but then got on with the job in hand and they were placed third.
Sandie was our member in the Elementary and a solid performance from the reliable Rufus saw them win their class by a whisker.
Finally the pair’s class with Sandie and Debbie on Basil and Sienna. Much practice and laughter had gone in to this test and on the day both horses and riders surprised themselves by performing their best test ever, despite getting a bit ahead of the music, achieving nearly 75% which could have been the highest score of the day and lovely comments from the judge.
Well done to all who took part and good luck to those going to the championships.
