We had a a great day at Poplar Park on Sunday 28th June. Kirsty represented the club as an individual in the 80cms class on Casper and despite an interesting dressage test they only added 4 penalties in the show jumping and then flew round the cross country clear with no time penalties. Our 90cms team consisted of Kirsty, Corinne, Sarah Tate and Harry, with Sarah Moore as an individual. All produced good dressage tests and show jumping rounds, with Harry and Sarah T going clear then all flew round the cross country course with just a few time penalties to add, Harry and Kirsty with no time penalties. The team finished 3rd overall with Kirsty individually 6th and Corinne a winner.
We then fielded a team at 100+ which is novice eventing level dressage and show jumping and 100cms cross country, although there were 5 fences that were different on the course from the standard 100cms course. We had Ian, Polly Natalie and Harry in the team and Nathan was an individual as this is a mixed class for juniors and seniors. Each had a good dressage test and Polly, Nathan and Natalie clear show jumping, then on to the cross country. All our members produced fantastic rounds with just a few time penalties to add except for Polly who became another victim of the rather unpredictable second water jump. Nathan was 3rd overall and Natalie 5th and the team qualified for the championships at Swalcliffe Park in August.
We all enjoyed ourselves and thank you to Caroline and Sarah Smith for being our helpers
